Location

The Velvet Curtain is located within The Sprawling Bazaar, close to the mountain where the lifts and stairs begin taking people to The Hearth Tier. Easy to locate by the iconic purple velvet curtains framing the opulent entrance to the only theatre in Aerilon, every local is familiar with this center of the performing arts.

Atmosphere and Appearance

This iconic building of creativity stands amongst other buildings that pale in comparison to the intricate, gilded accents of The Velvet Curtain, its grand entrance marked by imposing double doors, framed by lush, deep purple velvet drapes that give the venue its name.

Inside the theatre exudes elegance, the inside of the lobby is lined with paintings of famous performers and productions that have taken place within these walls, along with some floor candelabras that illuminate the room and some seating for waiting patrons. Inside the theatre proper is several rows of plush, upholstered seats in matching velvet to the drapes around the room, an intricately carves proscenium arch stands above the stage with hovering dancing lights, flickering like specks of candlelight. Backstage consists of the owner's office, a dressing room, wardrobe room and the prop and writing room..

Staff

Lady Ariadne Windspire, an elegant and tall female elf with raven-black hair cascading in soft curls over her shoulders, her attire is classy in deep hues to complement her fair complexion. She owns the theatre and is incredibly passionate about bringing performing arts to the people and nurturing talent and creativity. She is determined, shrewd and resilient and has worked hard to get The Velvet Curtain to where it is today.

Zariel Dawnspark - Master of Ceremonies, a flamboyant male tiefling with deep green skin and black horns that protrude at almost right angles from his head, his emerald green hair is just long enough to be tied back with silver jewelry adorning his horns and ears. Usually dressed in black and silver formalwear, he has a booming voice and a penchant for dramatic flair, he is well loved for his grand gestures, captivating stories and infection energy.

Maren - Stage Manager, she is a cheery gnome with chestnut brown hair that she keeps in two short braids, always friendly and helpful wherever she can. With her keen organizational skills and an eye for detail, she ensures that each performance runs smoothly. Her calm demeanor under pressure is legendary, and she has an uncanny ability to solve problems before they arise. Keeps a ring of "Message" on her at all times.

Lavinia - Costume Designer, a crafty and creative half-elf, she keeps her blonde hair in some loose pony-tail/bun style to keep it out of her face. She isn't much for conversation, but has an eye for design and extravagance, crafting stunning costumes that bring characters to life, also known for her perfectionism and occasional bouts of creative eccentricity.

Solana - Security, a tall female half elf with dark red hair, she wears half plate armour emblazoned with the sigil of Zitarin, the goddess of victory and there are several distinct scars across her face. She is happy to chat and help where she can, but she won't stray far from the theatre or run her mouth, her task is to keep the theatre and it's people safe.

Magnus - Lighting Technician, a human male with short blonde hair, a quiet creative that uses a combination of mechanical and arcane techniques to illuminate the stage with various effects and colours to add to the performance. He likes to keep to himself and is learning magic on the side to assist the theatre.

Eamon - Resident Playwright, a brooding half-orc male with short tusks and light green skin, his black hair sits just above his ears with a quill often holding his hair back for him. He is a talented writer and is responsible for crafting original plays that captivate the local audiences, he appears reserved but his work speaks volumes about his talent and depth. Usually located in his writing room or at various taverns to search for local inspiration.
