Tarrinport is the western-most town in Joriah; a large port town in the Dreynet Peninsula, one of the western most settlements on the continent.

Summary

Tarrinport is the main port of Joriah, all official marine trade is conducted at this harbour, it is one of only three ports along the western side of the continent and is the only port that Dorse Isles ships will dock at and trade with. They see all kinds of travellers and merchants coming through from other kingdoms and across the sea, this town has weathered all kinds of bad folk and has become incredibly resilient because of it. The town is looked after by an elected Mayor and a few council members which enables the locals to have a larger say about their town, as decreed by the Merchant-King of Joriah.

Taverns

The Laughing Gull

- Found near the shore but away from the port, this faded three-story yellow building overlooks the harbour with a seagull weathervane on the roof and a larch porch offering stunning sunset views. This tavern is family friendly, comfortable and welcoming to all visitors.

The Pearl and Compass

- Located in the town proper, this elegant three-story building with ornate fittings and carved balustrades faces the ocean with the promise of luxury and relaxation at the beach. Aimed towards the wealthy and noble seeking familiar comforts, this accommodation costs a pretty penny but it's worth every copper.

The Salty Anchor

- This tavern is located right at the port, a weathered, two story wooden building with salt stains and faded colours stands with rope rigging, anchors and fishing nets hanging off the walls and roof. Budget friendly, aimed towards the sailors and fishermen in need of a drink and a bed.

Shops

Market

- One of the iconic parts of Tarrinport is it's diverse, ever-rotating market. Set up close to the shore, there a few stalls that are run by locals that sell fresh fish, baked goods, etc or are key vendors for arriving merchants, but it's the products from across the continent and across the sea that give this market it's popularity. Merchants that have just arrived may sell a few of their products before continuing their travels further into Norlaria, or will sell to known vendors in town in bulk. You never know what you might find here.

Saltforge's Ironworks (Blacksmith)

- Found closer to the town, this robust two-story building looks like it could withstand a hurricane without much effort, the dark stone walls stained with decades of salt spray and forge smoke. The distinctive red-orange glow of the forge fire spills out through wide-open double doors, visible from blocks away.

Tidewater Mystics Emporium (Magic Shop)

- Located near the market, the two story stone building seems to shift between deep ocean blue and seafoam green depending on the light and the tide, with various corals and anemones growing at its base. This is the only permanent location to purchase magic items and enchantments here.
