Vehyr is the goddess of revelry, encouraging celebration and life from the people of Eliqueth. She does not have a large following across Norlaria, but there are a few small temples scattered in different kingdoms.

Description

Appearance

Vehyr is usually depicted as a young human woman with long dark hair, sun-kissed skin and eyes like sparkling wine, typically gold or a deep purple. She wears flowing silks that glint in the lights, jingling jewellery and a flower crown made from the local flowers that constantly blooms. Typically portrayed dancing barefoot, holding a drinking vessel above her head, either smiling or laughing.

If visiting in a mortal guise, she appears as the life of the party, the faint scent of feast foods and sweet drinks surrounds her regardless of where she is and where she has been. Wildflowers will sometimes bloom briefly where she steps and her mere presence makes music sound richer and colours appear more vibrant, being around her makes you want to dance and celebrate anything at all, even just being alive.

Personality

She is a very generous and enthusiastic person, her excitement for life is contagious and even cynics will find themselves smiling in her presence. She believes that every event and milestone should be celebrated and no one deserves to be left out regardless of their status or station; the bonds of friendship can be found anywhere. She does not care for politics of the world however will take issue when others intentionally try to crush someone's joy or exclude them and has been known to become quite angry when she sees it.

Practices and customs

- Sunset toasts, even if it's just a silent cheers when the sun sets to celebrate surviving another day

- Setting an extra place at the table for Vehyr, including filling the plate with food and providing a drink to honour and include her

- Marking life's passages - births, coming of age, marriages, achievements - with proper ceremony

- Communal meals served at round tables so there is no "head of the table", and if possible, sit with people you don't know very well or haven't met before

Locations of Worship

Temples to Vehyr will often have open courtyards to host celebrations and parties, with community kitchens to prepare food to share
