Location

Celestia's Curiosities is located towards the center of the Sprawling Bazaar in Aerilon, Joriah, it stands tall between several shorter stone buildings and is incredibly easy to locate. Celestia's is the largest magic shop in Aerilon and the most reliable, she's stayed in business for a very long time for a reason.

Atmosphere and Appearance

This beautiful three-story stone shop stands tall and unique amongst several shorter nearby shops. The stonework has been painted a deep deep blue and decorated carefully with glittering crystals to appear like the night sky, the wooden doorframe is carved with celestial symbols and arcane runes that shimmer and pulse slightly in the sunlight. Low stone planters in matching design hold brilliantly coloured flowers that you're not sure you've ever seen before in such vibrant shades, sparkling under the light. A metal sign hangs above the door, shaped like a crescent moon, bearing the shop name in elegant, flowing script; every once in a while a small light traces the lettering and it glows for a moment before fading.

Inside, a small bell chimes as you enter and you can see beautifully organised shelves that seem to stretch into infinity, will beyond the parameters set by the physical boundaries of this building. The smell of incense, burning candles and old paper fills the space and faint bells seem to chime in the background, sourceless. There are arcane artifacts, shimmering potions and mysterious tomes as far as the eye can see and a gentle glow lights the space from enchanted lanterns floating above the shelving. One shelf appears to be covered in a layer of thick glass, an enchantment pulsing lightly on the case holding incredibly rare and valuable products. There are tables arranged in the middle of the room, holding baskets of small trinkets or wands and a few potions here and there, one table has a single, very large book with a chair next to it, the book reading "catalogue" Behind an ornate counter decorated with various crystals and tomes stands an eladrin sorcerer, reading from a heavy tome, a raven on her shoulder, appearing to read along with her. A spiralling staircase of polished white marble and silver inlays leads upwards, seemingly defying gravity as it curves more dramatically than the building's exterior would suggest. Floating candles drift up alongside visitors as they climb, providing gentle illumination, the whole staircase pulsing with Celestia's magical signature.

The second floor contains Celestia's Enchantment Workshop, her personal arcane library and Luna's roost. The workshop is the centrepiece of the second floor, a vast circular room with a domed ceiling painted to mirror the night sky above Aerilon, constellations slowly rotating overhead to indicate the optimal times for different types of enchantments. The floor is inlaid with a massive arcane circle made from precious metals and gems, capable of containing and focusing magical energies for complex enchantments and various workstations are set up around the circular room; a desk for creating inscriptions and spell scrolls, an alchemical station for creating potions, even a small seasonal forge that changes temperate and properties based on Celestia's current seasonal form. The library seems to extend far beyond the physical boundaries of the building much like the ground floor, and the shelves are filled with thousands of tomes, grimoires and research notes that are painstakingly organised and labelled by author and date. Books will occasionally float down and settle on a reading desk, or drift back to their places on their own, however the books located in a small restricted area behind a shimmering barrier are only accessible by Celestia herself. The raven's roost is a section that has been converted to an elaborate aviary for Luna where she comes and goes as she pleases from perches of varying heights, with shelves full of Luna's own collection of "interesting" objects, shiny buttons, unusual coins, small trinkets, all displayed carefully.

The third floor is Celestia's living chambers, the apprentice chambers and the vault. Celestia's private rooms and armoire magically transform to match the seasons and her form; Ferven brings warm golden light and gentle breezes; Regreshia creates cozy spaces with rich tapestries and warming fires; Algus offers crystalline beauty with soft, silvery light. There is a section of room utilised as a private study, containing her personal grimoire collection, artifact display and a small scrying pool and a door that leads to her observatory that extends beyond the physical roof. A crystalline dome provides unobstructed views of the heavens while protecting against weather with ancient astronomical instruments made from meteoric metals track celestial movements with perfect precision, a moonwell to reflect and amplify lunar energy and a desk covered in star charts and astrolabes. There are two apprentice chambers, comfortable rooms for visitors, researchers or extended stay apprentices like Orion that are enchanted to adapt to the occupant's needs and preferences. Orion's room is covered in maps of the lands he dreams of travelling to and unexplored regions, while displaying a few artifacts or mementos he has already collected from his travels to get to Aerilon. The vault is the ultimate security in this city, hidden behind layers and layers of magical protection containing the most dangerous, valuable, and significant items in her collection. The chamber exists partially outside normal space-time, making it nearly impossible to breach. These include items of world-changing power, held in trust, dangerous experiments that are too volatile for the workshop, emergency reserves and supplies for defending Aerilon against magical threats and master keys, items that could unlock or control other powerful magical locations.

As an action, you can open a sensory connection with a creature you are familiar with. If the creature is willing, you can both see, hear, smell, taste, and feel what the other is feeling for 1 minute. When you hit with an attack roll using the morningstar while it glows this way, the target takes an extra 1d8 radiant damage. - Wanderer's Guide to Merchants and Magic
  10. Clockwork Warhammer (requires attunement): This magic item appears to be a metallic rod. While grasping the rod, you can use a bonus action to cause a warhammer made from metal and gemstones to fold out from the rod, or make the hammer disappear. Clockwork Strike. On a 1, the blade malfunctions and you suffer the same effect as the target. When the hammer malfunctions, it folds in on itself and disappears, and can’t be brought out again until the next dawn. - Wanderer's Guide to Merchants and Magic, altered Clockwork Sword
