The Steel and Stein

Location

The Steel and Stein tavern and inn is located towards the edge of Aerilon within within the snaking shadowy alleys only traversed by the familiar or the desperate. It can be difficult to locate at the best of times without a guide, nigh impossible after the sun sets, locals won't recommend this place to anyone unless you're looking for trouble.

Atmosphere

From the outside, this tavern doesn't look like much. The only signage is an aging wooden sign above the door that is barely legible in the dark, the windows are always closed even at midday and it does not present as inviting to any passerby.

The inside is dimly lit and all too quiet, the service is lackluster but the drinks and rooms are cheap. Nothing is broken, per say, but everything is bare minimum, there's a few tables and a few more chairs and a few less candles, the bar is stocked but with the cheapest liquors that can be found and there is rarely a noise above a whisper.

Staff

Rurik, a gruff male dwarf bartender with a very thick grey beard that is not well looked after, not chatty unless you're paying high, owns the tavern but his profits come from the The Shadow Veil syndicate living underneath and using his tavern as their hideout.

Additional Entities

In one of the back rooms where large kegs are stored, there is a cellar door that leads into a network of tunnels under the city, owned and run by The Shadow Veil who pay the tavern to keep their mouth shut.
